Thalidomide Babies by James Pate Williams, Jr., BA, BS, MSwE, PhD

The two organizations, namely medical doctors and the pharmaceutical industry, who brought some breakthroughs in healthcare have also done some abysmally bad things to human beings including a rash of birth defects due to the potent sedative thalidomide. Thalidomide when used in males and/or females out of their childbearing years can be a wonder drug.

One of my good friends while I was growing up at 601 Hill Street, LaGrange, GA 30241 was a thalidomide birth defect victim. Ken D. was born with thumbs on both hands., however, that did not deter him from playing sports with me and the other neighborhood kids. We also went on BB gunning missions in the wee early morning hours without the knowledge of our parents.

Old Friend John by James Pate Williams, Jr., BA, BS, MSwE, PhD

I briefly saw my old friend John Joseph walking down Bull Street at the corner of Bull and Broome Streets. He was unkempt and probably suffering from medically addressable extrapyramidal effects from decades of anti-psychotic pharmaceuticals. He offered to shake my hand, but I refused since he may have any kind of cold or flu virus or some form of infectious bacteria. I guess his extended family who dole out his meager funds don’t really care about his day to day appearance.

I met John in 1973 at a dance sponsored jointly by Peachtree-Packwood Hospital and Peachford Hospital both of which are in Atlanta, Georgia. We were both too shy and emotionally reticent to ask any females to dance. Also, the females ignored us as the social outcasts the we were and remain in that state of constant rejection.

I don’t know John’s precise diagnosis, but he is treated as a completely worthless piece of human flotsam. I know my diagnoses and I am in the same social detritus realm as John. John has never been challenged by his family, psychiatrists, and social workers to try to make a positive impact on his milieu. He does know a lot of folks’ names in this area and he is well known and recognized by the businesspeople of LaGrange, but the local capitalists only want our money and the tips we leave our servers. I am more infamous as a curmudgeon or iconoclast.

Both John and I need to be more careful crossing the downtown streets. I notice that John does not always obey the crosswalk signals. That is certainly highly dangerous behavior in modern LaGrange. I am probably going to get killed for being overly aggressive at asserting my crosswalk rights. Also, I need to stop cussing and yelling at the motorists who violate my pedestrian rights.

Review of Troup County Jail by James Pate Williams, Jr., BA, BS, MSwE, PhD

Preface: I write from my experience of seventy-five (75) days in the Troup County Jail. Most of my jail-time was in Booking 704 then Booking 703. I was under a potential suicide watch for part of my time in the system.

The Troup County Jail staff puts the safety of all inmates at the top of their list of priorities. People who are vulnerable to physical abuse are kept out of the general population and usually isolated in either the Isolation suite of cells or Booking. I was fortunate enough to be able to observe the jail staff use what I term the “Group Hug” (from the PBS show the Teletubbies). The group hug is used to subdue a potentially violent inmate by three or more staff slowly converging on someone acting out with at least one with her/his Taser drawn and ready if necessary. The inmate usually submits peacefully to this combination of action and rational talk.

The food is limited to approximately 1800 calories per day. The nutrition is of acceptable quality and is pretty good but often server cool rather than warm or hot.

Females Missing in Action by James Pate Williams, Jr., BA, BS, MSwE, PhD

There are at least three females that have touched my heart, mind, and human essence that are currently missing in action. Namely, in alphabetical order by first name:

  1. Cyndi(a) Darlene Burks Burden also known as Lisa
  2. Merry B., RN, etc.
  3. Yvonne Marie Greene, MD, etc.

I would love to develop nontoxic close relationships with all three women. Currently, I believe I have a better chance of finding 1, but I hope to locate and see up close and personal 2 and 3. I realize that 2 and 3 are long shots, but I will not be satisfied until 2 and 3 reject me outright of their own mouths. The staff at Pathways Center both Second Season and the Pathways Center Troup Outpatient Mental Health Clinic are shielding Merry B. from me for some unknown ethical, legal, or moral reason.

Overly Cautious Store Clerk at Summit by James Pate Williams, Jr., BA, BS, MSwE, PhD

I woke up at about 8:30 PM or so, looked at my email and called a client to see how to act on a business issue. We wound up talking far too long about confidential information I have no need to know. Anyway, after the conversation I went and worked out for a little over 30 minutes at Planet Fitness. I then came home changed pants and proceeded to the Main Street Pub. There I purchased a Blue Moon with orange slice which was $5.25 with generous tip. I need to stay out of bars, but I did get a buzz from one beer due to my daytime medication. On the way home I tried to get a dollar changed to four quarters to buy a Troup County News, but Summit on Greenwood Street was locked down due to a timid cashier. There have been robberies in the area so I can’t blame the employee’s caution. I was home before 12:15 AM on Friday, January 10, 2020. I am going to wait a while before taking my nighttime medication of a 25 mg generic Vistaril and 50 mg Trazadone.

Waxing Gibbous Moon and Pathways Center Second Season by James Pate Williams, Jr., BA, BS, MSwE, PhD

I just took a walking tour of beautiful downtown LaGrange, Georgia. I carried an umbrella in case I needed to fend off an under-armed robber. Unfortunately, my recent 1013 into Pathways Center Second Season took away my ability to apply for a concealed weapon carry permit. You must be away from involuntary internments for at least five years before exercising your Second Amendment rights. I would choose either a Taurus .380 (9 mm x 17 mm Browning) or a Glock 19 (9 mm x 19 mm Parabellum by George Luger).

I called Hortense Lindsey McFarland at Pathways Center Second Season of Lagrange, Troup, Georgia, to see if Tameka Cooper was available to talk to me. That telephone call occurred between 4:30 AM and 5:00 AM in my estimation. Former U .S. Army Sergeant McFarland told me Tameka was on break. See Tameka and her alleged daughter Malaysia tried to convince me that the pregnant Malaysia was my daughter and her son was my grandson. Malaysia claimed to be ready to name her child Kannon Pate Williams. Matthew Riding who is a good friend of my Merry B. and Lauren Hornsby tried to convince me that Tameka and Malaysia were lying to me about their status in my family. Matt said their lies were to try to make me feel good. Anyway, Matt works at both Hope’s Corner and Second Season. Malaysia claims to be twenty-two, so she was born in either 1998 or 1999. I did not authorize anyone ever to take sperm from me so if I am a sperm donor it was done surreptitiously.

The early morning was chilly, clear, and beautiful with a waxing gibbous moon. The next full moon will be on Friday, January 10, 2020. The next new moon is on Friday, January 24, 2020.

Hot Meal Service Notion by James Pate Williams, Jr., BA, BS, MSwE, PhD

Re: Hot Meal Service Notion

Dear Staff,

If you are among the local churches that offer hot meals to the disenfranchised and downtrodden then I have a before and after lunch idea. Since you essentially have a captive audience, may I suggest you offer some GED and higher or lower educational tutoring before and after the hot meal. I am a former volunteer GED volunteer teacher at West Georgia Technical College in 2011. I am available to volunteer to tutor in mathematics and sciences almost any day and time. My landline telephone number is 706-416-2594 and you have my email address. I hope to hear back from your organization.

Sincerely,

James Pate Williams, Jr., BA, BS, MSwE, PhD

Re: Gambling Demographics

Dear Chief of Police Lou Dekmar and Captain Pheil,

The premier gambling casinos in the world still call Las Vegas, Nevada home. Prior to the millennials becoming interested in video game gambling, most gambling was done by the elderly probably white female population. Gambling and its concomitant problems: alcohol and drug abuse and prostitution are on the rebound in our society. One of the driving forces is multiplayer video game gambling. People get hooked on video game gambling since there is skill involved in playing video games. Slot machines also known as one-arm bandits are purely stochastic in nature. Our society can’t afford to become a gambling refuge for the planet. We need to teach the young of the perils of gambling where skill is involved. In other words, don’t let infants and young children get hooked early on video games provided by cellphones (smartphones and Internet connected tablet computers). The Internet of Everything (IoE) is going to kill all the social skills that we need to teach the young.

Sincerely,

James Pate Williams, Jr., BA, BS, MSwE, PhD

Torn Down the Middle by James Pate Williams, Jr., BA, BS, MSwE, PhD

Currently, I am torn between two potential lovers: Cyndi(a) Darlene Burks-Burden, age 55, and former Pathways Second Season nurse, Merry B., age 43 or 44. Both are beautiful females in my humble opinion, but they have their own baggage to bring to any male-female relationship. Cyndi is a sometimes-recovering opioid addict, who needs methadone  and Medically Assisted Therapy to reach a state of virtual normality. Merry B. has two big dogs, a Great Dane and a Siberian Huskie, and two male children, one 20 and at home and one 25 living on his own. I just want the opportunity to get in a healthy (non-toxic) relationship with both women, however, I am not go chasing  after either of these females. I think that Merry B. has written me off and said good riddance to me. I don’t know about what Cyndi(a) is doing now.

I am no prize package. I have a mercurial temperament. I am very quick to anger and self-loathing. I appear arrogant sometimes, but this is a defense mechanism for low self-esteem. The psycho-socio-economic programs I have been sentenced to practice have ripped away many of my decent and good qualities. I feel that our town, county, state and country have just used and abused me.
