Walking Regimen by James Pate Williams, Jr., BA, BS, MSwE, PhD

I have made a concerted effort to add more walking to my daily rituals. Here is my current log:

May 9, 2020 23 minutes

May 10, 2020 100 minutes

May 11, 2020 80 minutes

May 12, 2020 90 minutes

May 13, 2020 120 minutes

May 14, 2020 90 minutes

May 15, 2020 145 minutes

May 16, 2020 145 minutes

May 17, 2020 50 minutes

May 18, 2020 120 minutes

May 19, 2020 90 minutes

I estimate that I cover one statue mile (5,280 feet = 1,760 yards) in approximately 20 minutes. I have not calculated the number of steps per minute or mile.

I am on at least two medications that cause weight gain and maybe eventually obesity and perhaps diabetes. The pharmaceuticals are ABILIFY and olanzapine both of which are strong anti-psychotics. I have heard that for weight loss, it is a good idea to eat small meals more than three times a day. I hate being overweight, but my genetics, milieu,  and actions have dealt me a bad hand to use a poker analogy. No, I do not believe in conscious gambling.

Graph Coloring Problem by James Pate Williams, Jr., BA, BS, MSwE, PhD

A graph is a set of nodes and edges. An edge connects one node to another node. Given a graph the Graph Coloring Problem involves coloring each node with no two nodes of the same color being connected using the minimum number of colors. The Graph Coloring Problem is an example of constraint satisfaction problem.

A-12 Oxcart by James Pate Williams, Jr., BA, BS, MSwE, PhD and Others

The A-12 was the penultimate success of the Lockheed “Skunk Works” and Clarence Leonard “Kelly” Johnson. His final design and implementation work include the U-2 Dragon Lady, the YF-12A, A-12 Oxcart (Archangel), and SR-71 Blackbird. All but the YF-12A were exceptional reconnaissance aircraft. The YF-12A was a ruse by Mr. Johnson to try to convince U.S.S.R. intelligence that the plane was a high altitude Mach-3 interceptor and thus could shoot down U.S.S.R. MIRV ballistic missiles in the reentry phase of their flights.

USAF Colonel Ken Collins Retired was in an A-12 Oxcart that had a mechanical failure causing a crash. Collins parachuted to safety at 25,000 feet. The CIA used sodium thiopental (truth serum) on Collins and I quote the CIA paper below: “Collins willingly took truth serum to help his memory.”

There are so many good papers that document the real work of the CIA on their official website. Every U. S. citizen and resident should be proud of our excellent intelligence partners past, present, and future: CIA, FBI, and NSA.

The NSA’s primary role is first and foremost electronic signals intelligence and interpretation. One of the FBI’s high priority  jobs is counterintelligence which leads to arresting and interrogating foreign spies and potentially disloyal U.S. citizens. Finally, among the tasks assigned by law (National Security Act of 1947) is gathering intelligence on foreign soil and sending the results back to a station or headquarters for thorough analysis and investigation.

Secrecy and Anonymity on the Internet and Especially the World Wide Web by James Pate Williams, Jr., BA, BS, MSwE, PhD

I have been a strong proponent of openness and no anonymity on the non-military and non-government portion of the Internet and the World Wide Web. I have used my real legal name on the Internet and WWW since December 1995. That honesty was in sharp contrast to the normal anonymity that hackers and hecklers hid behind that cloak of secrecy. I was known to Google as “Pate” from about 1997 to 2002 or so when my cryptography, number theory, etc. website was popular. That website died a premature death along with MindSpring and EarthLink in about 2010 or 2011. The first real inroads on secrecy and anonymity came with the advent of Facebook in 2004. Mr. Zuckerberg and his team wanted people to use their real names so that contact was easier. I wholeheartedly agree with that approach.
